Quintero Family

 Francisco Quintero (Paco) I am the youngest of 6 siblings, I was born in Sonora, Mexico, a state that borders Arizona (USA). My father met my mother in a brothel, and in this environment of alcoholism, drug addiction, prostitution, mafia, and homosexuality, I was born. My parents abandoned me then and my 9-year-old sister took care of me. When I was 10 years old, we moved to Baja California and I was welcomed by a Christian orphanage, founded and cared for by American missionaries and it was there that my life changed completely. The missionaries hosted an activity for children and between games, puppets and clowns, they told us about Jesus Christ. At the end they asked, “Who would like to invite Jesus into your life and have him as your friend?” I was the first to raise my hand! And it was in this interesting and attractive way that I gave my life to Christ at age 10. The love missionaries had for orphaned children impacted me greatly. I always wondered, “How is it possible that some people can give so much love to children who are not their own children?” The love they showed was very different from the love I knew. In this environment of love for one’s neighbor at the orphanage Rancho Santa Marta, a passion grew in me to know other cultures and learn other languages to speak more about Jesus in the same tender and loving way. Since then, beginning first at home with my family, friends and in our communities, I have not stopped speaking and making Jesus Christ known as the Savior and the only means to go to the heavenly abode for all eternity. All my siblings except one, my oldest brother, have already surrendered their lives to Christ. Pray with me for his salvation. My parents suffered from cancer, but before they died they both accepted the gospel of Jesus Christ and gave their lives to Him. They looked for a church and began to congregate; they even decided to get married, but the cancer invaded Mom's body and she died a week before the wedding. I was 16 years old. From my adolescence a growing fervor to teach the word of God and a strong passion for missions flooded my being. Starting with the indigenous people of Mexico and on to Bible smuggling in China, my purpose in life is reaching souls for Christ. Giving the Lord the glory He deserves, I want to share with you that this summer 2020, I received a call from a 38-year-old man who was my classmate in junior high school in Mexico. In his call he asked me for forgiveness for the times he made fun of me when I told him about Jesus. He also added, “Now, I am not only your classmate, I am also your brother in faith, because I accepted Jesus Christ and gave my life to Him. I believed you would want to know since you were the first person who told me about Jesus. Although back then I made fun of you, now I value what you do.” As I listened to this call with tears, my heart overflowed with thankfulness and joy knowing that a seed I sowed fell on good soil and bore fruit 25 years later.
